The importance of quality

Why survey quality matters

Quality leak surveys are crucial for maintaining the safety and integrity of natural gas systems. Thorough, accurate surveys catch leaks early, preventing safety hazards and minimizing environmental impact.

High-quality surveys also keep you in compliance with regulatory standards, safeguarding against costly fines and reputational damage. Investing in quality, affordable leak surveys enhances safety while contributing to operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.

FAQ

Leak survey questions, answered

Who do you use for operator qualifications?

PinPoint Natural Gas Services is OQ’d through Veriforce by an accredited third-party evaluator. This is to ensure the integrity of PinPoint’s services.

What equipment do you use?

I use a Heath DPIR and RMLD, but rely on traditional walking for leakage surveys in Class 3 and 4 locations.

With my years of experience in leak surveys, I believe walking leakage surveys allow for the most accurate sampling of gas mains, services and meters, so hazardous leaks are caught and small leaks are diagnosed before they have a chance to become hazardous.

What is your experience?

I’ve worked in the natural gas industry for more than seven years. Four of those years were at CenterPoint Energy in the Leak Survey department where, with the assistance of Picarro, I did leak investigations in addition to traditional walking wherever Picarro couldn’t reach.

I spent two years at Utility Safety and Design Inc., where my knowledge grew to include performance evaluations, plans and manuals, Office of Pipeline Safety inspections and other compliance work for clients.

Since then I’ve been operating PinPoint Natural Gas Services, providing high-quality services for clients across the natural gas sector with a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of industry regulations.

Can leak surveys be combined with other services?

Yes. Atmospheric corrosion inspections are typically completed alongside a leak survey, and pipeline patrols can be done at the same time. Bundling saves you time and keeps your compliance records in one place.

How do I get a quote?
